Zambia Charity Page

A short while ago I went with the charity “Families for Children Zambia” see link.

I was asked if I would go and take with me art materials and give some time to the children who are being helped by this charity, to show them how to use the materials, to paint and to draw and just to have fun.

So with quite an amount of trepidation I did go.  I collected from both firms and individuals who were very generous with both money and art materials.

I really did not know what to expect, it was a whole new world for me.

I saw an environment of extreme poverty, children who had been orphaned by the  AIDS / HIV  virus, children who had nothing at all, children struggling just to survive, children who had huge responsibilities to younger siblings and also maybe to grandparents.

The charity helps to provide an education, a safe house, clothing and food, please do see the link.

Anyhow, there I was, out of my comfort zone, in the middle of Africa with what seemed to be dozens of children.

We had fun, we mixed paint, we drew one another, we played with colours, we put face paint on the children (It shows up very well on little black faces) and produced some great pictures……….. Some of these can be bought please contact me.
